Newsworthy Notes
do you have herbicide drift damage in your vineyard?
The Food and Environmental Quality Lab at Washington State University has put together a vineyard leaf index scoring system to determine if 2,4-D drift or other phenoxy-type herbicides has caused leaf damage in your vineyard. The website can be accessed here: http://feql.wsu.edu/EB/index.htm, and contains a visual rating scale and several forms that can be filled out to assess and report the damage. For more information, please contact Bruce Olson at WSDA.

WSU Field Day – August 12th : For those of you that missed the Field Day last Thursday, here are some pictures you might enjoy. It was a very educational and fun time at WSU-IAREC, Prosser with 100 attendees. Topics included Concord research with cover crops, a tissue sampling demo, SWD, late season foliar nitrogen sprays, foundation block NWGFS procedures and rootstock research. Thanks goes to Dr. Joan Davenport and Gary Ballard for doing the majority of the work to set this up. And, a special thank you to our presenters: Dr. Thomas Henick-Kling, Dr. Markus Keller, Dr. Joan Davenport, Dr. Doug Walsh, WSU Grad Students, Gary Ballard and Dr. Jim Harbertson.
